Available in cda 280 muntz metal and cda 464 naval brass. C280 muntz is most commonly found in sheet and plate form. Wider and longer sizes of muntz naval sheet and plate also available on request. C280 is commonly referred to as muntz metal nominally containing 60 copper and 40 zinc.

Due to the structure of muntz metal it is stronger harder and more rigid than other forms of brass. C28000 muntz metal also known as 60 40 is copper alloyed with zinc. Muntz metal 4 c28000 sheet muntz metal is a type of brass alpha beta brass also known as yellow metal. Due to the valued color in muntz it is commonly used in architectural structures.

This brass metal alloy was invented as an alternative to copper to save on costs. A form of alpha beta brass muntz is commonly used as an architectural metal in sheet and specific shapes as well as corrosion resistant machine parts. C28000 muntz metal is 60 copper 40 zinc with a trace of iron. The unique chemical composition of 60 copper and 40 zinc result in a rich color for eye appeal utilized in elevator cabs wall treatments molding wall panels nameplates signs accessories hardware lighting clocks etc.

Cu zn40 is considered a duplex alpha plus beta brass and has excellent hot working properties but is less corrosion resistant than c464 naval brass.
